Training at the Bujinkan Saffron Walden Dojo
You will be taught by a 6th dan black-belt and a 2nd dan black-belt in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We have male and female instructors and we always welcome beginners and members of other martial arts. Please feel free to pop along and train or watch us train at any time. You must be aged 16 or over to train.
How much does it cost?
There is an upfront non-refundable fee of £20 payable at the start of your first lesson. This covers your first four lessons. Subsequent classes are £5 per lesson.
Do I have to do a beginners course to be able to train?
In short, no. We periodically offer beginners courses for new starters and those that have been training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu for a short period of time. However, if you want to come along to the lesson and train, then you are welcome to do this. You will be taught the required basics by our 2nd dan black-belt instructor.

Dress Code
In Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu we wear a black gi. If you have a gi (of any colour) please wear it with a white belt. If you don’t own a gi, loose fitting clothes that are robust enough to survive being grabbed and pulled will be sufficient.
Class in the Court Room
Lessons are currently being held on the first floor of Saffron Walden town hall in the court room. You can enter through the rear entrance to the town hall on Butcher Row (opposite Starbucks) and go up three flights of stairs, or enter through the front doors of the town hall and walk up two flights of stairs. The court room overlooks the market square.
We sometimes train in the town hall committee room which is at the basement level of the building. It is best to enter through the back door on Butcher Row and the committee room is the first door on the left. See dojo timetable for details.
